                                                             Closer view of wild rice

                                       Wood Lake Creek Mid December

The pullets are starting to lay. First dozen eggs this year.

Ann stretching mozzarella cheese to give it that stretchy quality.
It was very  tasty.

Hams in the smoke house, almost done.
A nice bacon ready to be sliced, we have a old slicer which is much easier than using a knife

A bunch of venison salami ready for the smoke house

Another view of the trail from our cabin .

Creeping snow berry, a relatively rare bog plant, tasty, but very small berries.

Wintergreen, a great crop of berries this year. We use the leaves and berries as a tea.
A old pine stump, all that's left of the great white pine forests that were once here.
I will try to add photos here on a regular basis but between a Vista operating system and a satellite hook up it can be very frustrating. I've reset the resolution on my camera as low as possible so that has helped. All photos are by Ann or myself.

Thanksgiving, blueberry, apple, and pumpkin. Oh, and homemade vanilla ice cream to top them.
